Next Run #231  - Sunday, May 4th, 2008 @ 16.30pm:

Hare: Nearest & Dearest

Location: Bang Kruat Bridge

Directions:

Go north on the 2nd stage expressway towards Chaeng Wattana and exit left onto Ratchadaphisek Road.

Go straight across at the first set of traffic lights and get in one of the right lanes to go over the flyover at the next intersection. The flyover takes you past a clock tower, and the road is now called Wong Sawang Road.

After another kilometer or so cross the Chao Phraya river on the Rama 7 Bridge. Keep in the left hand lane on the bridge, and as soon as you are on the other side of the river filter left.

Follow the road round in a large left-hand loop, going underneath the bridge you have just crossed. After almost completing the loop there is a broad road on the right leading to EGAT. Do not take this, but fifty metres further on turn right into a very narrow congested road (Route 3215, possibly sign-posted to Bang Kruay). There might be a 7-11 on the corner and there might be an 'Oral B' advertisement.

Follow this winding road for about 4.5 km. When you reach a major road turn right and then almost immediately turn left (there is a K-Bank on the corner). After about 500m park at the restaurant on the right before the bridge.

About S2H3:

S2H3 was founded on 14th December 1997.  We celebrated our 200th Run in 2007.

The idea was that a Sunday hash would attract those who were unable to run in the week and on Saturday. S2H3 is a mixed hash and children are welcome.  S2H3 runs are very laid back events.

Check out the early archives below.

Initially, runs were held once a month - but at some time during Hash Hash's tenure as GM it became a twice monthly hash normally running on the 1st and 3rd Sunday.

This year, we run on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays (if there is one) of the month.

Members without transport, visitors, and those with spare seats in their cars are
encouraged to meet at the Rama VI statue in the southwestern corner of Lumpini Park at 3 pm to share a ride to the runsite.

The AGPU (Annual General Piss Up) is not held at a run - the next committee is presented by the retiring Grand Master at a Friday evening Christmas Party.

The first run after the Christmas Party has always been a city run - hared by Founding GM Bushman - usually starting from the Rama VI statue with a picnic On On On in the park.

Cost is 200 baht for Harriers and 100 baht for Harriettes; this includes run fee, post run nibbles and all you can drink.  After the circle most people go to the On On On, usually at a local restaurant.  The cost of this is about 200 baht including drinks.

Getting there / carpooling / sharing a taxi:

We meet at the Rama Vl statue at the south west corner of Lumphini Park, on the corner of Rama lV and Silom / Rajadamri at 15:00.

You will either be able to get a lift or share a taxi to the run site.
Take the BTS (Skytrain) to Sala Daeng station or the MRT (Metro) to Silom station.
